Suitable for both seed and dual seed & fertiliser machines with an Accord-type pneumatic metering system, the Artemis upgrades drills with the type of technology found on new, higher value equipment maximising field efficiency and prolonging drill working life deferring capital expenditure.

The system comprises an electric motor with sufficient power and torque for most types of conventional pneumatic metering units and a radar forward speed sensor that provides a pulse signal to the motor control module, controlling the motor speed proportional to forward speed.

Features include a pre-start facility to prime the seed mechanism before starting to drill, a simple & fast operator product calibration and 'on the move' manual adjustment controls. There is also an integrated SD card port for basic data logging and the addition of an RDS GPS16 receiver enables the loading of pre-defined seed rate maps for automated variable seed rate application. In addition, the Artemis also provides the essential seed drill control and monitoring functions including forward speed, tramline count & control (symmetric & asymmetric), two area totals, fan speed and hopper level alarms.

RDS will also be exhibiting its range of cost-effective on-board weighing systems which help ease the load on farmers by enabling the operator to know exactly how much product is being used, for what purpose and to manage stock and costs accordingly. Awarded the RASE Silver Medal, the Weighlog 200 is an easy-to-use instrument and is suitable for use with a number of different attachments e.g. buckets or forks and a printer option for a hard copy of load summaries and totals.

Also on show at LAMMA will be the Ceres 8000i yield monitor system for combines, the Delta 34i sprayer regulation and control system and the company’s range of speed and area measurement instruments.
